Wood is a wonderful substance; it's warm and easy to work with. You can bend wood; you can carve it, glue it, and paint it. The wood seems to like being worked with, and I certainly love to work with wood!
Recently, I began fashioning items which are not usually made of wood. These items, in fact, are usually made of fabric. The charm of this technique lies in the ability to capture the flow of fabric, the movement and flexibility of textile within the firmness of wood, and to preserve them. The result is a multi-dimensional portrait of movement that looks fleeting but remains to be enjoyed again and again. ~ In consequence, we can set sail on our artistic imagination and discover new worlds of aesthetics and function.
