Rocio Heredia is an artist of the Mexican Contemporary Generation. Rocio uses traditional metalsmithing techniques of Chasing and Repoussé to raise intricate designs on silver, gold, copper, brass and tin. She holds a degree in Psychology, and currently divides her time between Metalwork and professional website creation. Rocío has been the recipient of recognition and awards for skillful and passionately realized themes. Rocío was choosen to receive the 2004 Dorothy MacKenzie Annual Purchase Award from Bowling Green State University Foundation, Inc. The piece purchased by BGSU is a repoussé work titled, "King David", which became part of the permanent collection of the jewelry and metalsmithing area in the School of Art, BGSU. [MORE...]
